Standout Moment(s):
German thrashers Warfield are exactly what the current revival of thrash metal needs. The band made their first appearance on the metal seas in 2025, just two months ahead of the release of their new album, With the Old Breed. They were firmly on our must-see list—like nearly every band on board, but scheduling conflicts meant our only opportunity to catch them was on the final day of the cruise. Thankfully, we made it. Their performance delivered pure, high-energy that felt like a direct throwback to the ’80s, fueled by rebellious adrenaline and sharpened with a modern edge. Warfield took over the Ice Rink stage and dominated it, and it was absolutely glorious.

What is the Artist Spotlight?
Well, it’s more than a review of their performance; as 70000tons goes, each band is a headliner, and we treat each one as such, giving them their own spread, discussing who they are and what they’ve been up to since the cruise. Each spotlight coincides with any updates from 70000tons organizers (if any), leading to days before setting sail. An extensive coverage like no other.
