Standout Moment(s):
Powerglove, one of metal’s most unique video game–nostalgia instrumental acts, made their grand return to the metal seas in 2025. Leveling up, we caught the band’s Studio B performance, complete with a full backdrop and sound cues pulled straight from retro video games, largely centered around the iconic Nintendo era. The room quickly filled with metalheads dressed as Pokémon characters, and what have you, waving inflatables and moshing to glorified sounds of the past, reimagined with modern, heavy energy. It was fun, chaotic, and easily one of the boat’s standout “fun bands,” offering a much-needed break from the surrounding black, death, and doom debauchery.

Latest Powerglove News
Powerglove wrapped up 2025 with two, more-or-less back-to-back tours, one supporting Sonata Arctica, and the other joining Nekrogoblikon. As of 2026, there aren’t any shows scheduled, nor are there any signs of new music just yet. With a strong end to 2025, we’re sure they will return to the road soon enough.
What is the Artist Spotlight?
Well, it’s more than a review of their performance; as 70000tons goes, each band is a headliner, and we treat each one as such, giving them their own spread, discussing who they are and what they’ve been up to since the cruise. Each spotlight coincides with any updates from 70000tons organizers (if any), leading to days before setting sail. An extensive coverage like no other.
