Standout Moment(s):

Prior to new music, Poland’s blackened death metal veterans Hate graced the metal seas for the first time in 2025. While masters at their craft and active in the scene for decades, their status didn’t help the luck of the schedule draw, as their first appearance landed in the Star Lounge. However, we made it for their second set at 5:15 am on the Pool Deck. It was a windy late hour, where a few naps were had to make it for their appearance, as they were one of the bands of high interest. We had hoped to catch both sets, but this is what happens: not everything goes according to plan. We caught a second wind during their late-night/early-morning set, which was filled with raging intensity. The best part was soon finding out there was more to come from this group.

Hate – Set 2

Latest Hate News

Three months after the voyage, Hate released their new album, Bellum Regiis, on May 2, 2025, via Metal Blade Records. The group has since performed several shows, and is currently on a Poland tour with more 2026 shows to be announced in the near future.

What is the Artist Spotlight?

Well, it’s more than a review of their performance; as 70000tons goes, each band is a headliner, and we treat each one as such, giving them their own spread, discussing who they are and what they’ve been up to since the cruise. Each spotlight coincides with any updates from 70000tons organizers (if any), leading to days before setting sail. An extensive coverage like no other.
