Standout Moment(s):

Whether it’s bright pink flamingos, scientists, trolls, or whatever comes next, you know you’re getting a whole show when it comes to Trollfest. No strangers to the metal seas, the group returned for their fourth appearance on the boat, and the 2025 voyage once again proved that it doesn’t matter what time they play, there’s always a large crowd ready for a conga mosh.

For whatever scheduling reason, Trollfest appeared in the 10 am hour for both of their sets, and it was arguably the biggest 10 am turnout in the history of the cruise. Considering it was the final day of the voyage and no one slept much the night before for both, pulling that off almost gave some cruisers superhero powers.

The band’s first set took place in bright sunlight with sharp shadows, but nothing could hide the pink, the fluffy, flamingo-filled stage setup, with fans also dressed as pink flamingos. It was a full-on glorification of flamingos, and even those unfamiliar with the band, Floridians included, would’ve been impressed by the sheer amount of pink waders on display.

The second set brought things back to their 2017 appearance, highlighting their 2014 record Kaptein Kaos, as the band stepped away from the rose-colored birds and into mad scientist territory. We made it to both sets and still can’t get enough of Trollfest. They’re the kind of band that should break all the rules and be welcomed back on the ship every year.

Latest Trollfest News

The flamingo party continues in 2026, as Trollfest are currently wading their pink beaks across Europe, kicking off the year as part of Heidenfest alongside Korpiklaani, Finntroll, Heidevolk, and The Dread Crew of Oddwood. Later in the year, the band is also slated to appear at several festivals, including Copenhell and Summer Breeze.

What is the Artist Spotlight?

Well, it’s more than a review of their performance; as 70000tons goes, each band is a headliner, and we treat each one as such, giving them their own spread, discussing who they are and what they’ve been up to since the cruise. Each spotlight coincides with any updates from 70000tons organizers (if any), leading to days before setting sail. An extensive coverage like no other.
