October 25, 2024 Release Highlights:

Amyl and the Sniffers, Cartoon Darkness (B2B/Virgin):
Frontwoman Amy Taylor said of the Australian rock band’s third studio effort: “Cartoon Darkness is driving headfirst into the unknown, into this looming sketch of the future that feels terrible but doesn’t even exist yet. A childlike darkness. I don’t want to meet the devil half-way and mourn what we have right now. The future is cartoon, the prescription is dark, but it’s novelty. It’s just a joke. It’s fun.

Pixies, The Night The Zombies Came (BMG):
The influential rock band releases it’s eclectic 10th studio album, which AP says “veers from folk to punk to psychedelia and back again and in between, never neatly fitting into a particular formula.”

Fit For An Autopsy, The Nothing That Is (Nuclear Blast):
The deathcore band said of their seventh studio album that it’s a “full realization of our identity and intention. Every song on this record serves a purpose, and it feels like our most dynamic and powerful album to date.”

Better Lovers, Highly Irresponsible (SharpTone):
Formed following the dissolution of Every Time I Die in 2022, the hardcore punk band (featuring Jordan Buckley, Stephen Micciche and Clayton Holyoak) is set to release its debut album. The band also features Fit For An Autopsy’s Will Putney (who produced the LP) on guitar and ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan singer Greg Puciato.

Chuck Ragan (of Hot Water Music), Love and Lore (Rise):
The Hot Water Music frontman
explore(s) new sonic territory” on his first solo album in a decade.

Devin Townsend, PowerNerd (InsideOut):
Of his latest solo effort, progressive metal artist Townsend said “I’ve spent so much time overthinking every aspect of my work – what would happen if I didn’t?’ Maybe I would have the opportunity to be a bit more direct with what it is that I’m trying to do. I really wanted to see if I could cut through some of the meandering.”

The Effigies, Burned (BFD/the Orchard):
Last releasing an album in 2007, the Chicago punk pioneers’ new studio effort has become their final album with frontman John Kezdy, who passed away in a bicycle accident in 2023.

Atreyu, The Pronoia Sessions (Spinefarm):
The metalcore band’s latest album features reimaginings of songs from throughout their career, as well as a couple of covers made all their own.
