September 20, 2024 Release Highlights:

Nightwish, Yesterwynde (Nuclear Blast):
The Finnish symphonic metal band releases its 10th studio effort, which the band called “a fantastical voyage through time, memory, and the better angels of human nature.” Reviews have been extremely positive so far.

The Voidz, Like All Before You (Cult):
Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas’ experimental rock project releases its politically-inspired third studio album, their first since 2018. (Digital release, vinyl and CD are set to hit shelves 10/18)

Jesse Malin/Various Artists, Silver Patron Saints (Glassnote):
Following Malin’s spinal stroke in 2023 that left him paralyzed from the waist down, the rocker’s famous friends have been finding ways to help fund his recovery. The latest is a covers album that features the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, The Replacements’ Tommy Stinson and late MC5 frontman Wayne Kramer (among others) putting their spin on some of Malin’s best-known tunes. Proceeds go to the Sweet Relief fund.

The Black Pacific, Here Comes Our Wave (Dine Alone):
Fronted by Pennywise’s Jim Lindberg, the punk rockers release their sophomore album nearly 14 years after their debut.

The Calamatix, The Calamatix (Epitaph):
Mixing Jamaican rocksteady, ska and punk, the band’s deeply personal debut album got some extra writing help from Rancid’s Tim Armstrong.

Fight Dice, Total Party Kill (Forge Again):
The heavy post-punk band featuring members of Braid, Hey Mercedes, The Promise Ring, Celishrine and Tigernite releases its debut album of Dungeons & Dragons-themed tracks.

Seether, The Surface Seems So Far (Fantasy):
The rock band releases its ninth studio effort, on which the band is described as sounding “alternately confident and confessional, full of vitriol and vulnerability.” Single “Judas Mind” has already been helping the band break records, becoming their fourth song in a row to hit number one on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and tenth overall.

Unto Others, Never, Neverland (Century Media):
The metal band’s third studio effort is described on their Bandcamp as “the sound of harsh light breaking through the Portland quartet’s darkened gothic and classic metal motifs.”

Vended, Vended (Independent):
The nu-metal band, featuring the sons of Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and Shawn Crahan, releases its self-titled debut album.
