October 18, 2024 Release Highlights:

Japandroids, Fate & Alcohol (Anti-):
The Canadian rock band releases its final album, this time trying to expand their sound in a more cinematic direction.

MC5, Heavy Lifting (EarMusic):
It’s been 53 years since the early punk band released an album. Unfortunately, Wayne Kramer and Dennis Thompson (the last two original band members) passed away earlier this year before they could see the fruits of their labor.

Karate, Make It Fit (Numero Group):
After reuniting in 2022, the jazz-rockers release their first new album in two decades.

Ensiferum, Winter Storm (Metal Blade):
The Finnish folk metal band’s latest full-length is a concept album partially based on bassist Sami Hinkka’s unpublished fantasy novel.

Frozen Crown, War Hearts (Napalm):
Now a six-piece, the Italian power metal band finds a “new beginning” with the release their fifth studio album.

Implants, Annihilation (CyberTracks):
The punk supergroup featuring members of Strung Out, The Tank, Pulley, Face To Face/No Use For A Name and Ten Foot Pole release their third studio effort.

Pinhead Gunpowder, Unt (1-2-3-4 Go!):
The punk band featuring Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong releases its first full-length album in 27 years. According to drummer Aaron Cometbus, this album is their “catchiest, most collaborative, and most poignant.”

Swallow the Sun, Shining (Century Media):
According to their Bandcamp, the Finnish death metal band’s ninth studio effort “explores the intrinsic challenges of being human.”

Jerry Cantrell, I Want Blood (Double J):
The Alice In Chains singer/guitarist releases his fourth solo album, which has a far darker tone than his last.
