03) 2013: Tim Lambesis’ arrest

If As I Lay Dying fans were able to forgive Tim Lambesis, Nachtmystium fans should forgive Blake Judd with flying colors, especially seeing that they’ve been refunding them. With that being said, Tim Lambesis shocked everyone in May 2013 when he was arrested for hiring a hitman to kill his estranged wife. By February 2014, he pleaded guilty and could have served up to nine years in prison. Roughly one year after the incident, Lambesis was sentenced to six years in prison. However, those six years turned into less than three as he was released on December 17th, 2016. Since then, Lambesis has apologized to his fans numerous times, remarried, and As I Lay Dying made a comeback. The group has already been on a few tours, and their first album in seven years, Shaped By Fire, debuted at #9 in charts. The record also landed on Metal Insider contributor Chris Annunziata’s Top Ten Metal Albums of 2019.
