01) 2011: The Year Bassists Went Bonkers:

After looking through the Metal Insider vault, our Shocking Moments of the year started in 2011. To see unexpected events that happened in 2010, check here. Remember ex-Coheed and Cambria bassist Mic Todd? It was 2011 when he was arrested for attempting to rob Oxycontin from a Walgreens in Massachusetts with a fake bomb just before the band were to take the stage. Mic parted ways from the group shortly after as Zach Cooper officially replaced him in 2012. By 2013, he pleaded guilty to the robbery, which was around the same time we found out he was diagnosed with cancer. The saga continued as Todd was also accused of scamming fans that same year. The former bassist has also landed on two of our Top 5 columns with Top 5 W.T.F. Arrests and Top 5 bands that continued despite legal issues with members. In addition to Todd, Kyuss Lives!/ex-Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri was arrested after a four-hour standoff with a S.W.A.T. team. Unlike Todd, Kyuss Lives! Decided to keep Oliveri around.
