08) 2018: Cannibal Corpse guitarist Pat O’Brien arrested as house burns down

Shortly after Cannibal Corpse’s North American tour in late 2018, guitarist Pat O’Brien was arrested after being charged with burglary and charging at an officer with a knife while firefighters were battling a blaze at his home. Since the incident, O’Brien has been unable to tour for all of 2019. The band has been relatively silent on providing an update as it appears he’s still in the middle of legal issues, which is out of the band’s hands. 

Erik Rutan who has filled in for Pat this year spoke to us and shared his thoughts, stating: 

“Pat O’Brien is one of the best guitar players in death metal, in metal period.”
