05) 2015: Terrorists storm Eagles of Death Metal show, killing 89
Tragedy struck on November 13th, 2015, when a terrorist attack took place in Paris where the extremist group, ISIS, orchestrated a series of attacks in several points of the French capital. One of these attacks took place at the La Bataclan, a theater during an Eagles of Death Metal concert resulting in a horrific death toll of 89. The group’s merch manager was one of the many who died during the vicious act. Following the horror, bands cancelled their touring plans, and music promoters heightened the level of security. Unfortunately, this hasn’t stopped the heinous acts from happening. Earlier this year, Slayer and Anthrax’s Christchurch show was cancelled after New Zealand’s terror attacks. In 2017, a tragic suicide bombing took place outside an Ariana Grande show in Manchester, UK. Towards the end of the same year, at least fifty people were killed in a mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival in Las Vegas, NV.
