Blake Judd had the metal community fooled. His reputation has been tainted for most of the decade as he’s known as a prolific scammer. Judd has faced jail time for taking in fraudulent merch orders for his band Nachtmystium as the money he received was eventually used for drugs. However, this didn’t stop him from scamming his fans again for more drugs. Between the noise surrounding Judd’s overall exposure, all Nachtmystium’s social media accounts were pulled. Back in 2014, we assumed he dropped off the face of the earth.

However, it looks like Nachtmystium reactivated their social accounts in 2017 and has since stepped up doing what they can to make amends to their fans that were robbed. The group launched an email account for those who were ripped off between 2008-2012 (or longer?). They’ve been offering refunds ever since. The group is currently working on new music, including their EP Resilient, which was released in 2018 via Prophecy Productions. The EP landed on the Best EP’s of 2018 year-end list via NoCleanSinging. Earlier this month, the band announced the following:

For those who still follow what we are up to, there’s some announcements concerning a load of new releases, including an announcement about the band preparing to start recording LP #8, “Blight Privilege: Black Meddle Pt. III” in the first week or two of 2020, along with another big announcement concerning our line-up expanding it’s ranks….big news for this band for sure.”

It isn’t very easy to trust those who’ve wronged you. However, the band has been taking extreme measures making their mistakes up to their fans. It seems as though Judd will remain haunted by his demons but he’s doing the best he can to fix them.
