The past few months alone have been rather busy for Axl Rose, and tonight he and Guns N’ Roses start a new Las Vegas residency. However, if rumors are true, Rose might be calling it quits after the residency ends on June 7.

According to gossip outlet Radar Online, an inside source says that Rose is considering plans to retire. He has even supposedly told members of the current lineup that their “calendars are free following Vegas,” insinuating that the rest of the band are out of a job once the residency concludes. However, it’s definitely worth emphasizing that this is merely a rumor from a news source that posts more stories about nude celebrities than they do about music (let alone metal). This should be taken with a grain of salt, just like about talk that Guns N’ Roses might release new music next year (and that bit came from one of the guitarists).

So whether Rose is truly calling it quits and laying GN’R to rest for good remains to be seen. Although let’s be honest, many fans have already considered GN’R to be six feet under since the original lineup imploded.

UPDATE: Yup, the rumors are NOT true. Axl Rose is not retiring anytime soon.
