Remember a few weeks ago when Black Crown Initiate launched a crowdfunding campaign to get themselves a new van? Well, it turns out they really need it. The Pennsylvania band, currently on the road with Crowbar and Unearth, have missed two dates and counting, as their van, nicknamed “Captain Planet,”broke down in Delaware, of all places, as they were on their way to start the tour. So far, they’ve been forced to bail on shows in Pensacola (last night) and Saint Petersburg (tonight). The van, which they refer to as a “rusted death trap” and and “early ’90s catholic school bus,” is being evaluated, and with the next date of the tour, on Wednesday (3) in Tallahassee, more dates on the tour might have to take place without BCI.

So far, they’ve made only $2,949 of the $25,000 they’re seeking for the van, but it’s pretty obvious that they weren’t joking when they said they needed a new one. The van has already left them stranded in Washington State and Winnipeg, CA. They’ve nicknamed it Captain Planet ironically, because it has no catalytic converter, meaning it spews pollution everywhere. In short, these guys need to  be seen. We witnessed them crush it at our 2014 CMJ showcase, and you deserve to as well. Head over to the indiegogo page if you want to help them out. Here are the rest of the tour dates:
