Is Reading, PA the next musical hotbed? Probably not, but two of the more promising metal bands of the past year are from there, and now they’ll be touring together. Rivers of Nihil and Black Crown Initiate both hail from the Pennsylvania town about an hour outside of Philly. And they’ll be touring together next month for the “Reading Rainbow” tour. Get it?  Here’s what BCI’s Andy Thomas said about the Reading scene when we interviewed him earlier this year:

There is not a gigantic one.  Basically, Rivers of Nihil is from Reading, as well. They just got signed to Metal Blade – they’re an amazing band and very good friends.  There are some other bands, but they’re pretty much the extent of the Reading metal scene.  Everybody for years saying, “Holy shit this band is amazing… We came up together – all of us.
