You’ve got to give Lady Gaga some credit for putting her money where her mouth is. She’s been not so secret about her love of metal, shouting out Saxon, and hanging out with Rob Halford and Anthrax. She even brought Babymetal on tour with her. But probably her favorite metal band is Iron Maiden. She’s seen them in the past, hung with drummer Nicko McBrain, and spoken of her admiration of them and their fans. She even said she wants to be the next Iron Maiden, in terms of career longevity. So it’s no surprise that she’s one of the many people that picked up their new double album The Book of Souls when it came out on Friday.

The Book of Souls should debut in the top 5 when next week’s SoundScan charts come out. This week’s #1 album by The Weeknd and Five Finger Death Punch’s We Got Your Six will likely be in front of it. Then again, if Gaga’s fans take her advice and pick up the album as well, that could change.
