New & Noteworthy is a weekly column in which we highlight some of the newest rock and metal releases coming out each week. This week brings us new music from Periphery and Eluveitie! You can check out the last New & Noteworthy here, and the latest sales numbers in Metal By Numbers. The soundtrack to The Dirt topped the charts for heavy sales. Biopics, ya know? Be sure to follow us on Spotify to get this month’s New & Noteworthy Playlist, updated every Friday with the newest metal releases.

This week has pretty much been all listening to the new Devin Townsend. It’s weird, but growing on me quite nicely. You can read our review of the album here, I agree with Mark’s take on “Borderlands.” That song and “Why?” have grown on me in the weirdest ways.

New Releases

Periphery, Periphery IV: Hail Stan (3DOT Recordings)

Sixth studio album. Progressive metal / djent. Washington D.C, USA. Check out the Making-Of documentary the band released for the album, directed by former touring bassist Jeff Holcomb. By going independent and releasing it on your own album.
