It’s hard to believe that next month, Guns N’ Roses Appetite for Destruction will turn 27 years old. While they’re still somewhat of a band (maybe even with new music coming out this year), original guitarist Slash has soldiered on since leaving, with Slash’s Snakepit, Velvet Revolver, and since 2010, two solo albums. His third, World on Fire, will be out on September 15th. Like his last one, Apocalyptic Love, Myles Kennedy is the lead vocalist, so it’s another album with the unwieldy band name Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators. The title track of the album has been released, and it’s pretty standard issue hard rock. Slash is a great soloist, so you won’t be disappointed there. There’s also some cowbell in the song, and Myles is a fine singer. Basically, you won’t be disappointed if you’re a fan of meat and potatoes hard rock. And since you’re not getting him back in GN’R any time soon, this is basically the next best thing.
