Slash is in NYC for a show tonight at Terminal 5. The former Guns N’ Roses icon is on tour now with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators and appeared on “CBS This Morning” (video below) as part of the standard press that someone like Slash does.

The subject of getting the ‘ole GN’R band back together came up and Slash danced around the subject, saying:

“I got to be careful what I say there, I mean, if everybody wanted to do it and do it for the right reasons, I think the fans would love it. I think it might be fun at some point to try and do that. Never say never.”

We’ll take, “never say never,” as optimistically as Lloyd Christmas in the original Dumb and Dumber movie (“so you’re telling me there’s a chance“). Founding bassist Duff Mckagan has played on occasion with GNR over the years, but Izzy and Axl skipped the 2012 Hall of Fame induction, so we won’t hold our breath just yet. But even though we pretty much assume that it’s not ever going to happen, we wouldn’t mind being proven wrong.
