Drummer Patrick Galante has officially parted ways with horror metalcore band Ice Nine Kills. Galante announced yesterday (12th), with band members supporting his decision.
Galante expressed via Instagram:
“Performing with Ice Nine Kills has been an incredible experience and I can’t thank my brothers in INK enough for their trust and faith in me throughout the past 6 years.
That being said. I have made the difficult decision to part ways with Ice Nine Kills. I’m excited to watch INK continue their success as I pursue other creative and musical projects.
I would like to thank you all for your continued support of my endeavors. I’m looking forward to the next chapter of my life and career, so keep your eyes and ears open for what’s to come.
–Patrick
This is not my departure from music. This is not my retirement from the stage. This is just the ending of a chapter, and I’m ready to explore the rest of my story. I am happy, healthy and thankful for all your support.”
The news comes just a day after Ice Nine Kills released their new single, “A Work of Art,” the official track for the highly anticipated slasher sequel Terrifier 3, which hit theaters nationwide. The band also dropped a 14-minute extended cut of the accompanying music video, directed by Jensen Noen and featuring Terrifier stars David Howard Thornton and Catherine Corcoran. The video, packed with gore and special effects by Academy Award winner Christopher Nelson, continues the band’s signature cinematic style.
To mark the release, Ice Nine Kills launched their Nightmare On The Ninth merch capsule, offering officially licensed Terrifier items. The band will also join Metallica and Limp Bizkit on select stadium dates for the 2025 leg of Metallica’s M72 world tour.
Frontman Spencer Charnas comments:
“Creating a track for ‘Terrifier 3’ is like stepping into the ultimate horror playground. The film and our new single, ‘A Work Of Art’, reflect the same twisted, unrelenting energy that fans of both Ice Nine Kills and the ‘Terrifier’ franchise thrive on. And having our music video play in theaters after the movie at special screenings last night was the ultimate honor and the best way to pay homage to the cinematic terror that has inspired me and this band. The extended cut of the video marks a new era of INK-related terror, but what that means shall remain in my nightmares…. for now. Psychos, we present to you what may well be our most glorious and goresome offering yet, sure to leave you both tongue-tied and terrified — ‘A Work Of Art’.”
