The self-destructive black metal act Nachtmystium returned, sharing more promises going beyond their reissues through Earache records and playing at this year’s Louisville Deathfest. At one point in 2014, we thought their album The World We Left Behind would be their last. Founder Blake Judd revealed the group will have two releases this year including a full LP The Resilient and a 7” split with California black metal act ColdVold, both will be released in September.
Despite Judd’s history, Nachtmystium added a few additional show dates for this summer.
Dates:
07/07 Los Angeles, CA @ 5 Star Bar
07/08 Wilseyville, CA @ Festum Carnis
07/25 San Diego, CA @ Til-Two Club
09/29 Louisville, KY @ Louisville Deathfest
Judd expressed his excitement:
“I am extremely excited to return to the stage after a nearly five-year hiatus. Wasn’t sure if this would ever happen again, given the condition my personal life was in and the condition the band was in publicly. I’ve spent the last year and a half cleaning up the mess I made of both, have assembled an amazing new live band of respectable and very talented musicians here in Southern California.”
Hopefully, no arrests and fans won’t get ripped off this time around. Forgive us if we’re a little skeptical, but we’re of the “fool me once, shame on you, relapse again and get arrested and bail on Metal Insider’s CMJ party because you’re in jail, you f’n suck” school of thinking.
