Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin was arrested on March 11 in Torrance, California, following an alleged domestic violence incident. According to TMZ, police responded to a 3:00 a.m. call and determined that a verbal argument with his girlfriend had turned physical. Scantlin, 52, was also found in possession of a controlled substance.
He was booked on felony domestic violence and drug possession charges, with bail set at $90,000. This follows a recent claim that he was “roofied” by a former bandmate before a Daytona Bike Week performance earlier this month on March 1. Scantlin’s arrest comes just over seven months since his arrest in August 2024 for traffic violations. A background check revealed further details, such as an outstanding warrant for possession of a weapon at an airport. Scantlin refused to exit his vehicle, leading to failed negotiation attempts by police and a crisis negotiator. Pepper spray proved ineffective, prompting a SWAT team to intervene with non-lethal munitions, ultimately forcing Scantlin to surrender.
As for Puddle of Mudd, the band had plans for a new album and currently has a few shows scheduled for this year.
