Puddle of Mudd, the 2000-era radio rock band, have been in the news quite a bit lately, and not about “Blurry” or “She Hates Me.” Yes, we’re talking about Wes Scantlin, the troubled singer of the band. In the past few years, he’s accused an audience member of stealing his house, berated his drummer and walked offstage at another show, vandalized his former house and gotten involved in a standoff with cops. Oh yeah, and he also bought a BB gun to an airport. Yesterday, he went to court over two of those incidents, the BB gun and the vandalism, and as a result, he’s headed to jail.

Scantlin copped a plea deal for the vandalism case, TMZ reports. He landed three years of probation, and has to pay over $40,000 in fines and restitution. The court date for the BB gun case found him pleading no contest, and he’ll be headed to jail for 20 days over the incident. While jail might be good for him, the “three years probation” part is pretty much a recipe for disaster. Just look at the preceding paragraph to see how well the singer keeps himself out of trouble. We’re hoping for the best, but we wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t the last time you read about Scantlin heading to jail.
