Ghost have a lot to live up to with the upcoming release of their fourth album Prequelle. Sure, now people know that Cardinal Copia is actually Tobias Forge, but they’re also an arena-headlining band now that will be doing quite a bit of touring before they play the Barclays Center in NYC and The Forum in L.A. The band played their first live show of the tour at Los Angeles’ Roxy, a much smaller venue than the Los Angeles show they’ll end the year with. It included the premiere of two new songs, “Dance Macabre” and “Faith.” The next night included the premiere of two more songs, “Miasma” and “Pro Memoria,” at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium. An expansive stage set that looks an awful lot like a church and a David Bowie/Marilyn Manson-esque Cardinal Copia (who’s ‘Cardi C’ is already a Ghost catchphrase) are of notice.

Of interest particularly is that Papa Nihil gets to wail on the saxophone on the instrumental “Miasma.” Giving him a chance to actually play the sax that he had in the band’s first teaser trailer for the new album will probably make this song a fan favorite, not to mention the fact that he’ll be a part of the band’s live show.

“Pro Memoria” is the song that we got to hear a snippet of last week when the band released their “Chapter 3: On the Road” clip about the VIP experience.

Here are the songs from the Roxy.
