06) Westboro Baptist Church to picket Jeff Hanneman’s Funeral

Minutes after the metal community heard the sad news that Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman died on May 2nd, 2013, The Westboro Baptist Church shared the following heartless and vindictive tweet:

“Which of your idols will God kill next? Yesterday Chris Kelly #krisskross Today Jeff Hanneman #Slayer”

A few weeks after the tweet, Slayer urged fans to do the worst thing possible by merely ignoring them at Hanneman’s memorial celebration. 

Not much has changed for the vile hate group over the last six years. However, we are thankful for the war between Whitechapel and the Westboro Baptist Church, black metallers Panzerfaust for visiting the hate group, Foo Fighters for rickrolling The Westboro Baptist Church protesters, and Alestorm joining the protesters to “stop” Warped Tour. There are two epic events worth highlighting. The first is when the Satanic Temple performed a same-sex marriage and ‘Pink Mass’ at the gravesite of a Westboro Baptist Church Family member. The second is Randy Blythe’s counter-protest against the hate group, which turned out to be an epic trolling kazoo rager.
