05) Adult Swim pulled the plug on Metalocalypse but finale will happen

It’s been eight years since the fourth season of Metalocalypse. Back in 2015, there were hopes for a season five when Adult Swim mentioned the show would return. The network prematurely aired a trailer for a new season, which allegedly showcased old footage instead. It was one thing to take away the series but another to provide false hope to devoted fans. Creator Brendon Small himself stepped up via Twitter, stating the network decided to pull the plug. Back then, Small was looking to find ways to “service a final story & music.” However, not much has happened since. A petition was launched in hopes of resurrecting the classic, which still exists today. We haven’t seen a new episode since 2013 special, Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem – A Klok Opera. However, Dethklok performed for the first time in five years last month, which makes us wonder if this means there could be a potential return, and we’re not the only ones that thinks so.
