Gallows have been working on their first album since 2009’s Grey Britain. It’ll mark their first full length with new singer Wade MacNeil, though technically he made his recording debut on the 2011 EP Death Is Birth. However, their third album will also mark the British hardcore punk band’s first release via their own record label.
RockSound.TV have confirmed that Gallows will partner with PIAS to launch Venn Records. The band had the following to say about their new label venture:
“For the last seven years we have trudged step by step through the dark sewers of music industry. Shaking hands with snakes and signing contracts drafted by thieves with perfect teeth. We are happy to announce that we have become part of the problem. All hail Venn Records.”
As you may recall, Gallows were briefly signed to Warner Bros. Records before parting ways with them at the end of 2009. The UK hardcore group then went through a shakeup in its lineup (with singer Frank Carter leaving the group) before recruiting MacNeil and releasing Death Is Birth. At the moment, though, it is unclear whether Gallows will release their as-yet-titled new album via their own label everywhere or if they’ll partner with another distributor in North America. The only other known tidbit is that they hope to release the new record at some point this year.
