Hidden in the southeast of Spain is a festival that brings a good lineup every year, but there are some years they bring out all their guns, and it seems 2024 will be one of those years. With a cartel including Dimmu Borgir, Electric Callboy, Jinjer, and Rata Blanca, it promises to be one of the greatest Leyendas yet. This festival mixes well-known international bands with Spanish metal’s greatest icons, all spread out in what is now a four-day festival in Spain in the middle of summer (temperatures over 95 degrees/35 degrees are expected)
The logistics to reach Villena are pretty simple. Flying out to Madrid, Alicante or Barcelona (in worse case scenario Lisbon) would do, from those cities take the Renfe train to Villena and either find a place to stay in the small but cosy Spanish town or camping out outside the venue is also a possibility. Either way, good Spanish food and refreshing beer or sangria will do the trick to keep you up and full of energy throughout the festival.
Remember that the logistics work could be the most rewarding part of the pre-festival season after picking up a festival and securing the tickets. You can pair up two or three festivals for a two-week Eurotrip; it all depends on your skills at planning. See you all in some of those next summer.
