riot fest 2016

Last week, Riot Fest left fans utterly shocked when they announced that the original Misfits lineup would perform at both the Chicago and Denver editions of the festivals. Now the festival has revealed the first wave of bands confirmed for its stacked lineup.

The Chicago edition (taking place September 16 – 18) will host a special set from Rob Zombie, who will perform White Zombie’s classic album Astro-Creep: 2000 in its entirety. Other heavier acts confirmed to play include Refused, Deftones, a reunited Thursday, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Underoath, Touché Amoré, GWAR, Glassjaw, Pierce The Veil and Andrew W.K. They’ll be playing on a truly diverse bill that ranges from Morrissey and Death Grips to Ween and Social Distortion.

Don’t worry those in Denver, that edition (which takes place September 2 – 4) also has a pretty stellar lineup. In addition to Deftones, Thursday, Underoath, Glassjaw and Touché Amoré, bands like Suicidal Tendencies, Converge, Hatebreed and Jane’s Addiction (who’ll play Ritual De Lo Habitual in its entirety) will also be playing in Denver.

Oh yeah, and did you hear that the Misfits will be reuniting with Glenn Danzig at both Riot Fest dates? Oh you heard? Ok, just checking.

Check out the full lineup of bands confirmed (thus far, with more to be announced soon) for Riot Fest’s Chicago and Denver editions below, while tickets are on sale now online.
