Tomorrow is a big day for Mötley Crüe. At 3pm EST, they’re widely expected to announce their retirement 33 years after their formation. Then they’ll be playing Jimmy Kimmel Live! later that night. And while the Crüe stepping down makes sense (Mick Mars is 62, for god’s sake), unless we hear otherwise, we’re taking the retirement with a grain of salt. Why? Well, countless bands and acts have announced that they’re stepping down, only to return. With that in mind, here’s a list of them. The rules? The acts must have announced that they’re retiring or otherwise broken up, deaths of members don’t count, and, well, that’s about it.
