New & Noteworthy is a weekly column in which we highlight some of the newest rock and metal releases coming out each week. This week features new music from Despised Icon, a band I thought was releasing an album today and prepared for but then found out came out months ago after writing it up because my list had an error on it and now I’m being stubborn and not removing it because it’s awesome, and more. It’s getting to the time of year where releases are slowing down anyway. For last week’s releases you can check out the last New & Noteworthy, and for the latest sales numbers Metal by Numbers. Be sure to follow us on Spotify to get this month’s New & Noteworthy Playlist, updated every Friday with the newest metal releases.

This week has been pretty exclusive reflecting on the Tool show, listening to Fear Inoculum and greatest hits, and the odd craving here and there. Not too much coming for me musically the rest of the year except for seeing Trans-Siberian Orchestra and compiling the yearly lists n’at. Now in preparing for this I did my formatting, and item research before checking the internet listings on the actual release dates, and somehow it never came up in the search, but apparently the Moon Tooth album came out months ago. So, in stubborn fury I’m not removing it because, 1. the work is done, and 2. it an amazing album and I don’t want you sleeping on it any longer than you may have already. This is some top quality, sludgy, riffy, groovy rock and roll and I am all about it right now.
