Metal Inside(r) Home Quarantine is Metal Insider’s new column during this time of isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We asked artists five questions on what’s been keeping them busy ranging from their favorite movies, food they’ve been eating, music they’ve been listening to and more. We caught up with Thanatopsis as they’ve been spending this time writing music.
What have you been doing to pass time during Quarantine?
Instead of going to shows and bars, I have been spending more time playing guitar, writing music, listening to music, watching shows with the family.
Have you been listening to any music or have any playlists worth checking out?
Personally, I like to collect CDs rather than stream music online, I get new releases but also fill out my back catalogue collection as I can – some CDs that I have gotten recently are: Candlemass – Nightfall, Exhumed & Gruesome – Twisted Horror, Destruction – Born to Thrash, Pile of Priests – Self Titled. Hideous Divinity – Simulacrum, Ensiferum – Thalassic, Paradise Lost – Obsidian, among others.
A lot of people have been spending this time cooking including making their own bread, what food have you been prepping during this time?
Wings, Pizza, Grilling – the food has actually been quite good!
In terms of entertainment, what movies, TV shows, books, or games have been keeping you busy?
I like The Last Kingdom, Ozark, and The Boys for shows. I like the Jack Reacher novels by Lee Child for books. There is also a book that I recently revisited called Shadow Lies by David McCord.
What advice do you have for your fans in isolation during this time?
My advice is for everyone to be responsible and respectful towards one another, as we all have to navigate through these bizarre circumstances – my hope is that we will all be able to enjoy live metal music again!
