Last year’s Sunbather broke Deafheaven wide open. The band’s sophomore album melded black metal and shoegaze in a way that hadn’t been done before, and it’s sold upwards of 30,000 copies and landed the album on quite a few top ten lists. On Monday, a new song from the band, “From the Kettle Onto the Coil,” will be released as part of the Adult Swim Summer Singles series. The band have been playing the song live, having performed it at the Pitchfork Music Festival, among other shows. It’s a fitting follow-up to Sunbather, and hearing new music from the band is promising.
You’ll be able to download the song for free on Monday at the Adult Swim Singles website, or you can stream it below.
