Deafheaven has announced a series of free shows, as part of the Converse Rubber Tracks Live tour.

Said vocalist George Clarke in an interview with the Chicago Tribune:

“Performing these songs is cathartic. It gets the aggression out. But it doesn’t help my personal life, and I don’t think it ever will. I always go back to the same things to write about, and that shows me it’s not really helping me. “

The band starts at home in San Francisco, CA, makes two stops in Austin, TX, then hits the east coast to wrap-up the seven date tour. The shows are free, but you’ll still need tickets, which will be made available today (29), at 9:00am PDT.

The band recently announced a new album, slated for release in 2015. Deafheaven’s last album,  Sunbather, came out in 2013 to critical acclaim, making multiple year end lists and landing on our Top 5: Sophomore albums list.
