It seems that these days, bands having their own signature line of beer is just as important as releasing albums and going on tour. AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Corrosion of Conformity, and Clutch are just a few bands that have released their own brew. Now Texas metal band The Sword makes sure to keep this emerging tradition alive by releasing their second signature beer, called ‘Iron Swan’. The beer, which is manufactured by Texas based Real Ale Brewing Company, takes its name from the track “Iron Swan,” from the band’s first album The Age of Winters (2006). The album also had a track lend its name to the bands previous signature beer “Winter’s Wolves,” which was manufactured by Baltimore based brewery Oliver Ales last fall.
‘Iron Swan’ will be launching in July, during the beginning of the bands summer tour with supporting acts Castle and American Sharks. Real Ale Brewing Company had this to say about the beer:
“Our newest canned offering is a tribute to the song that first introduced us to a packaging hall favorite, The Sword. Iron Swan pours a deep copper color and has an enticing intro of fruit and caramel with subtle hints of earth and spice. This medium bodied ale showcases the fruitiness of our house ale strain, along with the rich toffee flavors of English crystal malt. Added complexity is provided by generous amounts of English hops. Iron Swan finishes slightly dry with a mild spiciness that beckons another can. Fire up your turntable and audition Iron Swan yourself.”
Sounds tasty. Sounds like the perfect drink to chase down The Sword’s hot sauce with. Get psyched for the beer release with the track that gave the brew its name:
