Following Mötley Crüe’s surprise return, and despite signing the ‘Cessation of Touring’ agreement, it’s difficult to tell if final means just that. However, after having over three final tours across the globe, we believe Slayer when they said November 30th, 2019 marks the end of their thirty-eight-year epic career. While this mainly means the end of touring, it doesn’t necessarily mean the official end of these thrash legends. Regardless, if you are wondering why you have this sudden feeling of loss without explanation, it’s most likely because Slayer had their final show on Saturday (30th) at the Forum in Los Angeles, CA. We have already expressed our favorite Slayer memory as artists have reflected on the group’s overall impact to the New York music scene. However, Tom Araya gave a heartfelt farewell on Saturday as Kirk Hammett, King Diamond, Jason Momoa, Scott Ian, and many more attended the group’s final(?) show.
Check out some of the highlights from Saturday’s performance including the setlist, and a few heartfelt messages from Gary Holt, Sacred Reich, and more below:

Gary Holt expressed his gratitude via Instagram:
“Now that the final show has come and gone, I just want to send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported me stepping into this monster called Slayer. Last night was a whirlwind of emotions for all four of us. I want to thank @tomarayaofficial , @paulbostaphofficial and KFK, Kerry Fucking King. I will miss so much more than just sharing a stage with you guys. I’ll miss the jokes, the penalty shots for our onstage fuck ups, the philosophical discussions, the fart jokes, the millions of laughs, the songs, the bus ride movies and more shots. MASSIVE love to all three of you. All at RSE, Rick Sales, @sassys8n , @ehgon , and @ndrewstuart . Always made me feel like part of the family. Our stellar crew, especially @sai_lhung_ , one of my best friends on this earth. RESPECT! RIP Aarmand . And to the Slayer fans, thanks for making me feel welcome, it’s been a special and magnificent metal journey. Three epidurals, seven cortisone injections, trigger point injections, all to keep me in raging mode. Worth every second of the pain. Forever honored to have been a part of this band. But I never wanted this. Jeff should have been there. I just held down the fort for him. And @lisaholt777 , your support meant everything to me. Love you after forever. And all my boys in Exodus, you are my family, and this wayward son is coming home! New Exodus is a world destroyer. See you in Europe in February! 12h”

When we started the band Slayer were our biggest influence. I literally wrote “Draining You Of Life” while listening to “At Dawn They Sleep”. “Hell Awaits” changed my life and “Reign In Blood” will always be the heaviest record ever. Thank you for your music and inspiration. pic.twitter.com/ekDGQSYDxr
