Last week, Dave Mustaine hinted at it, while Anthrax guitarist Rob Caggiano had no comment. But now we can confirm at least part of the rumors surrounding The Big Four’s Summer plans. It has been confirmed that Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax will be headlining the first night of this coming Summer’s  U.K. installment of the Sonisphere festival. This will mark the first time that The Big Four has played on the same bill in the U.K. The Big Four will be performing on July 8, while Biffy Clyro will be headlining the second night (July 9) and Slipknot will be headlining the third and final night (July 10).

This may not be as exciting for fans in the U.S. However it does give more hope that the Big Four will also make their debut in the States, mainly because part of Mustaine’s tweets hinted that the U.S. can expect some big news as well. Stayed tuned as more will surely be revealed soon. On a related note – Biffy Clyro? Really?
