The last time we wrote about Unlocking the Truth, the three-piece were playing on the streets of Manhattan, which isn’t bad for kids that were 11 and 12 at the time. The instrumental trio, who essentially made their name by busking on the streets, have come a long way since then. In fact, tonight will find them onstage opening for Motörhead at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. The three’s combined age is still nearly half Lemmy’s age. Tomorrow will find the African-American trio playing in front of an even more impressive audience – the main stage at Coachella. They’ll be playing the fest the following week as well. In addition, they’ll also be playing a handful of shows on the Warped Tour in July. And while the band’s debut album is a ways off, they’ve signed with industry vet Jolene Cherry’s The Cherry Party label.
