Earlier this week, Kyuss Lives! (three out of four original members of Kyuss) announced a second leg to their North American tour this Fall. However, the first thing that popped into our heads was “Will Nick Oliveri be playing on this tour?” The official press release made it sound like it would, but considering his recent legal troubles, we were a tad skeptical. Was Oliveri going to be able to play with Kyuss Lives! or would former bassist Scott Reeder (who filled in for the band’s European dates this Summer) be brought in once again?
Well, it would appear that the answer is both. According to the Edmonton Journal and the band’s publicist, Reeder will be filling in for Oliveri during the band’s seven Canadian dates. At the moment, Oliveri will still be able to perform with Kyuss Lives! during the U.S. shows. Given Oliveri’s current predicament, you’d think that they’d just have Reeder fill in for the entire run. Whatever the reason may be, though, it looks like Oliveri isn’t leaving the group anytime soon. Then again, this could all change since Oliveri is supposed to be in court at some point in September (and it doesn’t seem like he can plead “not guilty” in this case).
The Sword and MonstrO have also been confirmed to open for both legs of the tour. You can check out the entire rundown of Kyuss Lives! North American touring plans after the jump:
