You might have once known them as Kyuss Lives!, but Vista Chino will be making their debut performance this coming weekend at the Orion Music and More festival. The band will be playing this Sunday, June 9 on the “Frantic” stage, with a full tour announced soon. Meanwhile, the band have released album artwork for their first album, Peace, which will be out  later this year on Napalm Records. The album art was created by California art collective The Date Farmers.

Vista Chino consists of John Garcia and Brant Bjork, both original members of Kyuss. The duo are joined by guitarist Bruno Fevery, who previously played with Garcia in a band simply titled Garcia Plays Kyuss. Garcia was playing Kyuss with Fevery, Bjork and onetime Kyuss bassist Nick Oliveri as Kyuss Lives! until a lawsuit last year. Oliveri has his own issues, so he’s sitting Vista Chino out as well. There hasn’t been an official announcement about who’s handling bass duties in Vista Chino, but I guess we’ll find out on Sunday. Check back with Metal Insider next week for an interview with the band.
