As you may have heard, bassist Nick Oliveri had a little run in with a S.W.A.T. team last month. Despite his recent troubles, Oliveri appears to still be in Kyuss Lives!, only being temporarily replaced for their recent European gigs. However, the group brought in a familiar face to fill in.
Scott Reeder first replaced Oliveri in 1992, having recorded Welcome To Sky Valley as well as …And the Circus Leaves Town with the band. Fast forward 19 years and Reeder again played with his former Kyuss band mates (minus Josh Homme) in Europe this past week. Reeder’s last scheduled date with the band is today at the Wacken Open Air Festival in Germany. Though they’ve made it clear that Reeder is only temporarily filling in, it is still unclear as to whether Oliveri will return in time for Kyuss Lives!’s U.S. tour this Fall.
Fan filmed footage of Reed’s first show with Kyuss Lives! at the Lokerse Feesten in Belgium has been posted online. You can check out the band performing “Thumb” up top, as well as more clips after the jump.
