Remember that Sea Shepard EP Gojira have been working on for a while now? Well, it turns out that we’ll have to wait even longer to hear it. Not only is the band’s focus on releasing their new record (and first via Roadrunner Records), but drummer Mario Duplantier recently revealed that problems keep popping up, like losing the hard drive after their computer crashed. At least we can be thankful that we heard one song off the EP, featuring Devin Townsend and Meshuggah guitarist Fredrik Thordendal.

Actually, now we can be thankful for a little more than that. During their set at the Soundwave Festival’s stop in Perth, Australia yesterday (March 5), Gojira were joined onstage by Townsend and Thordendal to play “Of Blood And Salt.” And luckily for us, fan filmed footage of the special performance has made its way online. To say that it’s cool to see Gojira, Hevy Devy, and the Meshuggah guitarist performing together (let alone on a newish song) is basically an understatement.

So go ahead and watch Gojira performing “Of Blood And Salt” with Townsend and Thordendal above (courtesy of our buds at Metal Injection).
