It’s only been about two months since Devin Townsend released Epicloud, arguably one of the best albums of 2012. On top of that, he’s been touring under the Devin Townsend Project moniker this past Fall, put on a gigantic show in London and will tour with Gojira early next year. Wouldn’t you say that Hevy Devy deserves a break? Well, apparently he doesn’t believe so, as he claims he’s almost done with yet another album of new material.
As you may recall, Townsend confirmed back in February that he was working on three new albums, including Epicloud, a Ziltoid The Omniscient sequel and another one called Casualties of Cool. Now it looks like that last one is almost complete, with Townsend tweeting the following last night (November 19):
“Casualties is almost done, and though different, it’s a great vibe and different from anything I’ve done, though close to the darkness of Ki”
Sounds close to the darkness of Ki? How could this get any better? Well, remember how Townsend has been working on a second Ghost album? Turns out that we’ll still get to hear it, with Townsend tweeting “Oh yeah, the bonus disk for Casualties will be the Ghost 2 stuff. =),” though also adding in another tweet “(Thats the hope at this point at least…)”
When exactly we’ll get to hear Casualties of Cool and Ghost 2 is still unknown, but it’s safe to say we’ll get to hear (more) new Townsend material soon. Plus, let’s not forget that Ziltoid 2 might still be in the works!
