New Years Day released a lyric video for their new song “Come For Me.”
“Come For Me” is the third single from their upcoming fourth full-length album Unbreakable, out April 26 via Red Music. The band’s last full-length LP, Malevolence, was released in 2015. In 2018, the band released a new EP, Diary of a Creep.
In a statement about the song, Ash Costello said:
“‘Come For Me‘ is my fight song. It’s my call to rally everyone who wants to get together and stand against anyone and everyone who’s got something to say to us.” She continues, “We live our lives online so much now. That invited anyone who’s got a negative opinion into our worlds. I got to a point where I just felt that I wanted to turn it into a fun time, a fun song.”
“Come For Me” also brought about a new way for the band to write. Costello continued in her statement:
“It’s also the first song we wrote for the album AND the first song that I got to have 100% say in exactly what I wanted, how I wanted it to sound, what I wanted the song to do and what I wanted to say. No more metaphors. If you don’t like me then say it to my face and not behind a screen. I’ll guest list you.”
New Years Day will be on tour behind Unbreakable throughout the spring and fall. From April 20 through May 25, the band will be on the road in North America as support on Falling In Reverse’s Episode III tour alongside Ice Nine Kills and From Ashes to New. Then on November 13, the band will kick off a run of European dates opening for Halestorm and In This Moment.
