Yesterday’s Record Store Day was already a special day for Faith No More fans, given that the band’s first new music in 17 years, “Motherfucker,” was released. But for patrons of San Francisco’s Amoeba Records, it was even more special, as the band played a surprise five-song set at the store. Taking to the stage with a gimp/slave in tow, the band tore through the new single first, then playing through “As the Worm Turns,” “Spirit” and “Ashes to Ashes” before ending with “Superhero,” another new song they’ve played live before.

“Motherfucker” will be made available digitally on December 9, and the  band’s first album since Album of the Year will be out in April on the band’s own label Reclamation Recordings, a subsidiary of the Mike Patton-owned Ipecac Records.
