Mark Morton has been busy away from Lamb of God working on his solo record Anesthetic, which was just released on March 1st (read our review here). A video for the next single from the record, “Cross Off” has just dropped and features the late Chester Bennington on vocals. Bennington worked with Morton on “Cross Off” in 2017, just months before taking his own life. Bassist Alex Bent and drummer Paolo Gregoletto of Trivium also appear on the track. Morton moved toward the solo effort as a means of satisfying his urge to create and collaborate with others. In addition to the guest appearances on “Cross Off,” the album also features artist input from a wide musical spectrum, including, Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach, Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, drummer Roy Mayorga of Stone Sour, Ray Luzier drummer from KORN, bassist Mike Inez from Alice in Chains, Mark Lanegan of Screaming Trees, Mark Morales of Sons of Texas, Chuck Billy of Testament, Jake Oni of Oni, Naeemah Maddox, Lamb of God bandmate Randy Blythe, and Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy.
Morton takes to the road and goes on a co -headlining U.S. tour with Light the Torch supported by Moon Tooth in the spring. Joining him onstage will be Mark Morales and Nick Villarreal of Sons of Texas on lead vocals and bass respectively, Doc Coyle of Bad Wolves on guitar, and Art Cruz of Prong and Winds of Plague on drums. Fans can also expect some guests to appear throughout the tour.
