Linkin Park seem to be interested in putting their nu-metal past behind them. Hell, from the sound of the first two singles from their forthcoming album One More Light, they’re much more interested in becoming a pop band. “Heavy” isn’t very heavy, nor is “Battle Symphony,” but if the band’s doing what they want to do, then so be it. That doesn’t mean, however, that the band’s totally abandoning metal, at least for singer Chester Bennington.

Theprp has found that Bennington has been in the studio with Lamb of God’s guitarist, Mark Morton, and Josh Wilbur, who produced Lamb of God’s last album, behind the boards. Apparently, an Instagram story on Bennington’s page shared some lyrics from a song that they’re working on. That doesn’t appear to still be up, but the following tweet from Morton suggests that he’s a fan of what they’re doing. It’d certainly be interesting to hear what comes of this. Randy Blythe has experimented with some clean singing on Sturm und Drang, but Morton’s riffage and Bennington’s vocals could be a similarly great combo.
