You’ve got to hand it to KISS bassist Gene Simmons. Appearing yesterday to sing the National Anthem at the Steelers/Vikings game at London’s Wembley Stadium, he wasn’t there to plug anything, and while he was representing KISS, he wasn’t in full demon outfit, or popping out of a KISS Kasket.
However, when he did open his mouth, what came out was pretty awful. He had a choir backing him up, which helped out a bit, but he still struggled mightily to hit the high notes, which is something, considering that he was singing the song an octave lower than it’s usually sung. It’s not even the first time he’s sung the National Anthem at a football game. It is, however the first time he’s done it overseas for two teams that until yesterday, were both winless.
