With season six of Game of Thrones in full swing, it seems like everyone’s getting into the spirit of things. Even people that aren’t familiar with the show. We’re not sure what Grecian rock Firewind and Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Gus G. was living under, but he was unfamiliar with the HBO drama until minutes before Loudwire convinced him to cover the theme. Metal Sucks already stole the “A Song of Ice and Firewind” headline, but Gus does an admirable job of the cover given that he hadn’t heard it before. Starting out acoustic, he deceives us into thinking it’s going to be sedate, then midway through steps on a distortion pedal and thrashes it out. If he’d known the theme better, it might have been completely over the top epic, but it’s still well done.
