Yeah, it’s only 72 seconds worth, but French prog metal masters Gojira have returned with a preview of their new album. In an interview with Rolling Stone, the band talk about the band’s new, still-untitled album, which will be out this Summer on Roadrunner. And it also shows them in their newly-constructed studio jamming on an instrumental riff. It’s not certain whether it’s going to be on the album or not, but it’s a pretty cool, kind of unidentifiable sort of jam. Here’s some tidbits about the album:
There are 10 songs on it, and a lot of them are on the shorter end of the spectrum – about four minutes.
The lyrics and musicon the album were informed by the death of Mario and Joe Duplantier’s mother, who got sick in April of last year and died, while the band had been working on the album.. On the other hand, both Duplantiers became fathers since the release of L’Enfant Sauvage.
Some of the song titles – tentatively – are “Indiana,” “Silvera” and “The Shooting Star.”
